The “social” aspect of ESG is a crucial pillar of sustainable development, highlighting employees as the main asset of companies. Their active involvement in sustainability initiatives is crucial for a successful transition. Furthermore, employee well-being turns out to be a key success factor for any organization, directly influencing their productivity and engagement. Indeed, employees who feel good, both physically and mentally, and valued at work are significantly more inclined to excel and actively contribute to the company's objectives.
In contrast, the talent shortage in Luxembourg is shaping up to be a major challenge for the national economy. The Government emphasizes that many sectors are facing a clear shortage of labor, threatening their competitiveness. This situation is exacerbated by the results of a Luxembourg Global Entrepreneurship Monitor survey in summer 2023, revealing an alarming trend: one in seven full-time employees plans to leave their job in the next six months, a phenomenon closely linked to the job satisfaction. These findings highlight the need for companies to reassess their approach to employee engagement and satisfaction.
So how can companies identify and foster the key elements of job satisfaction in order to improve both employee well-being and engagement, and thereby their own performance?
